COMMON QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS

Do I need to be fit to start?

No, you don't need to be fit to start. Most people begin with no experience and build fitness as they go.
Classes are structured so you can train at your own pace from day one.

There's always some risk in any physical activity, but classes are controlled and beginner-friendly.
You won't be put into live sparring straight away, and there's a strong culture of training safely and looking after your partner.

Just wear comfortable sports clothing, a t-shirt and shorts or joggers.
You don't need to buy anything before your first session. If you continue, everything is included in the starter package.

Yes, many women train here. We have female coaches and a supportive environment where beginners are made to feel comfortable from the start. Jiu Jitsu is based on technique, not strength.

Beginners are not expected to spar. Your first sessions focus on learning movements and techniques in a controlled way, at your own pace.

You'll be guided through a warm-up, learn a simple technique, and practise it step by step. There's no pressure to perform. It's just an introduction so you can see how everything works.
